Moses attempts to rescue his fellow Israelites from oppression by taking justice into his own hands, killing an Egyptian who was attacking a Hebrew worker. His act of vigilantism backfires when word spreads, forcing him to flee Egypt to avoid Pharaoh's death sentence. The story illustrates how trying to accomplish God's purposes through human timing, strength, and wisdom inevitably leads to disaster.
