Moses struggles with doubt and resistance when God calls him to deliver Israel from Egypt, yet God remains faithful despite human faithlessness. After Moses reluctantly accepts his mission with Aaron's help, their initial success with the Israelites quickly turns to disaster when Pharaoh responds by increasing the people's burdens. This passage demonstrates how God's unchanging faithfulness sustains His people even when their own faith wavers in the face of seemingly worsening circumstances.
