Interesting Web Cites for August 31st

Sites and articles that I found very interesting today…

  • A Look At Facebook’s Reach Worldwide – If Facebook's membership were a country, it would be the world's fourth largest….
  • How Facebook Can Ruin Your Friendships – WSJ.com – Interesting article about Facebook Fatigue… people getting sick if you and your Facebook quizes, which I wholeheartedly agree with. However, I see the capacity for sites like Facebook and Twitter to augment relationships. I just don't see how many of the insipid facebook apps that are out there aid in that.

This website uses IntenseDebate comments, but they are not currently loaded because either your browser doesn't support JavaScript, or they didn't load fast enough.

Is it bad that throughout reading the "How Facebook can ruin your friendships" article, I was thinking of quotes from the SuperNews "Trouble with Twitters" clip?

Plus, posting your every location on a public site is just a massive security hole. If an attacker knows you're not present at home and aren't likely to be for a while because you're bragging about being out of the country, it's sort of an invitation to wander in & "borrow" whatever they want.
