Today I was pointed at the Amazon Mp3 Download page for U2′s newest: No Line on the Horizon. $3.99!!!! That is an AMAZING price for an album!
It’s an introductory price for the release day. Probably U2 willing to take a bit of an economic hit to post big numbers on the first day. Also likely hoping to entice a few illegal downloaders to cough up $4 to clear their conscience ;-)
Tomorrow the price goes back to the regular $8.99, which is still $1 cheaper than at iTunes. The iTunes download gives you a few extras, and a few people might care about that. But all I can say right now is that if you don’t care about owning the physical album, hurry up and download at Amazon!
Sorry Bono, but you just got served. Granted, it’s 10 years later… but this is amazing. (via Noel)
MTV’s Web site is sweet. They just released a fast, clean, HTML+CSS site, a wonderful change from their Flash based behemoth, which really was a technical wonder, but really hard to use. I am totally digging the new version. Mad props to my favorite designer/dev, Dan Cederholm, for leading the team into the new millennium. Read Dan’s writeup here, and read MTV Labs’ writeup here.
Purevolume, then Virb, now MTV… hey, MySpace, you paying attention? Anyone? Anyone? Didn’t think so…
Today I discovered that there is a bike path that starts basically right in front of my house and goes (more or less) straight to Best Buy. This was a dangerous disocovery. Today it was 80 degrees out so I took my bike down this path and purchased the new Foo Fighters live album, Skin and Bones.
Flippin’ amazing, but I love the Foo Fighters. I would argue that they are among the best Rock and Roll bands out there today. If you are fan, pick this album up. It’s currently $8 at most reasonable places.
Track Listing:
15 tracks for $8, beat that!
