First Mozilla Spyware app detected

It was only a matter of time.

Spyware takes aim at Mozilla

It’ll be interesting to see what comes out eventually. Note that this does not currently affect Firefox.

Sjouwerman said that “stealth spyware” targeted at Firefox is “bound to happen” as hackers are currently working hard trying to find security holes in the open-source browser. “There’s a small army of rogue programmers that are tearing Firefox apart,” he said.

Think they’ll find anything? The thing is, there also a small army of rogue programmers tearing Firefox apart to FIX those holes, and new updates come out regularly (unlike IE). It will be interesting to see if the Firefox programmers manage to stay ahead of the game.

I agree it will be very interesting to see to if the programmers behind the open-source firefox can keep on top on malicous code. If they can not then some of the firefox commmunity will reluctantly return to IE. We will just have to see what happens.
