This isn’t exactly news but I thought I’d link this here for your benefit.

How to activate cleartype on Windows XP

It will make everything look prettier. I don’t know why default isn’t “on”. If you haven’t done this, do it now.

   It will make things look better, if you have an LCD display. CRT’s do not get any clearer.
