I Have A Lot Of Virb Invites
Virb is everything MySpace should have been. I have 90 invites if anyone wants in.
Neat Wordpress Theme: Cleaker 2.0
A buddy of mine, Adam Walker Cleaveland, just released a variation on his site’s theme for public download. It’s good work, check it out.
Jeremy Keith: Bulletproof AJAX
Jeremy Keith has written another book! Bulletproof Ajax is set to be released in mid-February. I am all over it.
Bulletproof Web Design is about the best HTML/CSS book out there currently, and DOM Scripting by Keith is the book to have on Javascript, etc. I’ve been looking forward to an AJAX book by him for some time now.
Pre-order your copy at Amazon now!
Meme: Five Things You Don’t Know About Me
I got tagged by Michael and Ryan a few days ago, so I better do this (right?).
Five things you might not know about me.
- I have a degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies from Iowa State University (would you like fries with that?), and yet, somehow have quite a successful Web design career going…
- I studied Tae Kwon Do for 9 years, and variety of other martial arts here and there.
- I consider myself to be a fundamentalist Christian. That is, I try to live according to the teachings of The Bible (which I believe to be inerrant truth) as best as I can, and Jesus is my hero (quite literally). However, I have a hard time relating to the common picture of “fundamentalist Christian” most people get when they thing about such people. This is probably the topic of a quite larger post. (most of you probably knew that, but I thought I’d put it out there anyway.
- I married the hottest woman on earth.
- I can’t get enough Pixar, Dreamworks, Disney, or other computer animated cartoon movies.

Microsoft.com Redesigns

Microsoft.com launched a redesign of their site on Dec. 14. It’s HTML (4.0 Trans) only throws 4 validation errors!! Though, for HTML 4.0 trans, that’s not necessarily an accomplishment. It’s CSS is another story, however.
It looks much nicer than it’s previous iteration. Table-less layout. Pretty sharp, guys. All-in-all, nice work, considering you had to use .NET ;-).
From their “About the redesign” page:
On December 14 we introduced a new home page for Microsoft.com. The new page incorporates months of research, testing, customer feedback, and refinements. We hope the new page makes it easier to find what you’re looking for on Microsoft.com, and that you find new items of interest along the way.
