Pardon My Dust

Well, my last template (the none-more-blacker one) was a failed experiment. It really didn’t look good at all. I’ve been quite fond of the template I created for mattandnancy.org ever since I launched it, so I thought I’d adapt it for here.

It’ll take me a bit to get everything in line, but it’s already a vast improvement (I think).

My Web Design Toolbox

A recent thread over at Godbit made me think it would be fun to keep a catalogue of hardware and apps that I use for Web design. So, from now on, you can check out My Toolbox page to see what I’m using. I’ve picked up a lot of apps over time trying to find an environment that works best for me. To be honest though, my typical day is spent in Macromedia Fireworks and Dreamweaver (code-view mode, of course), and uploading things through Dreamweaver or Transimt. Along with Firefox and the Web Developer toolbar, that’s what I use mostly.

Productivity Tip: Clean Up Your Office

I’ve heard it stated before, this is not an original idea, but let me just state that this works incredibly well for me.

This morning I came into my home office to sit down for a good solid day’s work and just felt lethargic. I couldn’t focus, couldn’t decide what to work on, and nothing sounded even vaguely interesting. I decided to clean my office.

My desk was cluttered, my floor had various boxes, computer monitors, paper, and garbage strewn about. Half read books, empty pop cans, and dirty dishes abounded. I spent 20 minutes erradicating this clutter and putting everything back in it’s proper place. Immediately afterward, I felt refreshed and inspired to get work done. I am now cranking away happily.

Clean your space up.
