4096 Color Wheel
A Web safe color picker. Very handy.
Yahoo’s new baby
Yahoo launched a new search engine yesterday. Time to start vying for placement, this one could be big.
Firefox
I’m a little behind on this one (the news came out earlier this week, I was just too lazy to blog it): Mozilla has renamed Firebird to Firefox. Regardless of Dave Shea’s comments that Firefox sounds like an ’80s hair band, I think it is a sweet name. Although, it no longer sounds like a hot-rod. Ahwell. Good stuff. You should use it as your default browser, because, you know, I do…
Accessible Typography
Something I have taken interest in recently is Web Typography. Like graphic design, it is something I have very little experience with, but am pursuing in order to become a better Web designer. You may have noticed some changes to the typeface of this site in an effort to be more readable, artsy, and generally elitist.
A subject I DO know a great deal about on the other hand, is accessibility. So, when these two subject areas colided recently. I took an interest.
Accessible Web Typography is a resource that looks like it will prove to be very valuable. Perhaps you will find it to be as well.
Presentation
I presented on good Web site design practices today at Webster City Middle School. The presentation was very rudimentary, but covered some foundational elements. It was also a lot of fun. Apparently it went over pretty well with the kids too :).
