So I Rebooted Early…

Alright so I couldn’t wait. Sue me.

MattHeerema.com Version 2. Now with 30% more Web 2.0! “IT HAS TAGS! ™”

I think this gives me a nice base to start evolving the site from, and I fully expect to constanly be tweaking it. It’s big an loose and flexible now. I may decide to lock down the width, or do the fixed-width-based-on-browser-width thing that is becoming so popular now.

This site is more useful to me than it was in the past, but I see things that are going to need some tweaking:

  1. Readability. Light on dark is hard to pull off.
  2. The portfolio is kind of clunky and hard to see everything in. That will need some custom work.
  3. My resume is going to need some re-writing to make it easier to skim.

Other than that, any suggestions?

P.S. I also re-designed mattandnancy.org. Check that out.

CSS Reboot 2006

I signed up for the CSS Reboot a while back… was actually the 72nd person to sign up (there are currently 1335 signed up). I was optimistic. I wasn’t sure I’d actually make it. I wasn’t sure that if I did make it, that it would actually be a better design.

Well I’ve made it. My design is done, my wordpress theme is created, and I’m ready to switch the theme over on Monday at noon (central). I’m pretty excited. You can catch a glimpse of a preview here.

I’m also rebooting mattandnancy.org, my other site where I blog about more personal things.

Google Page Creator

Well, I can throw in the towel and quit my job. Web site publishing is as easy as any desktop publishing now with Google’s Page Creator. Clean code, decent designs, what do we need Web designers for anymore?

Xyle Scope

Xyle Scope is an extremely useful tool for disecting a Web page’s structure. It has just been added to my toolbox.
